Magpie BMS were contracted by Elmbridge Borough Council to design and install a control system for the new heating and refurbished ventilation plant serving the Day Centre at the Hersham Village Hall, Elmbridge.
The Hersham Centre was undergoing an entire redevelopment for use of the wider community in Elbridge, Surrey. To ensure that the climate of the centre was adequate for various events and activities due to be carried out at the centre, Magpie BMS provided specific operating times, temperature and CO2 control regimes- and to operate the heating plant only when certain areas of the centre were in use.
Client requirements consisted of the maintenance of hot water services throughout the duration of the redevelopment project, enabling the safe and continued use of the kitchen facility throughout the progression of works and, to enable end-users to operate the installed plant according to their personal needs- ensuring a minimisation in energy usage.
To meet the client’s bespoke requirements, the Magpie team designed a control system software of which end-users could operate through a touch screen interface- with plain English instructions to encourage ease of use. Furthermore, to meet the requirements of the Hersham Centre’s hot water services throughout the duration of the project, the Magpie BMS engineers provided and installed temporary control systems to minimise changeover time.
The works carried out by Magpie BMS Services Ltd were valued at £30,000 and took place throughout June – November 2017.
Since the completion of the redevelopment works, Magpie BMS are pleased to be advised that the Hersham Centre remains fully operational.
